A challenging project that required 21 trees’ to be dismantled quickly and safely to minimise the time spent within the enclosure. We decided to hire in a merlo rototilit with Westtech grapple saw, then process the material quickly using our excavators and woodchippers.
It was impractical to move the baboons due to their number. The works were carried out successfully whilst the baboons stayed with us. The zookeepers were on hand to create a safe work area.
One of the more interesting projects and risk assessments we have carried out this year!
