As the leading skills certification scheme within the UK construction industry, certification cards are issued by the Construction Skills Accreditation Scheme (CSCS).

Cards are issued for various roles such as:

  • Labourer for those carrying out labouring duties on site such as:
  • Skilled Workers who hold construction related qualifications.
  • Experienced Technical, Supervisor or Manager for people with on-the-job experience.
  • Professionally Qualified Person for competence-assessed members of CSCS- approved professional bodies.

These examples highlight just 3 of the CSCS cards that are issued to demonstrate different construction qualifications and roles.

Holders of Construction Skills Certification Scheme cards can therefore provide verification that they are suitably trained and qualified to do their job on site.

It’s worth noting that holding a CSCS card not a legal requirement. Confirmation of workers’ appropriate qualifications and training through membership of the CSCS highlights the commitment of employers to maintain and improve safety and standards on site.
